John Obi Mikel has resumed full training with Chelsea but will not be
considered for selection when the Londoners tackle Stoke City in the
Premier League on Saturday.
The Nigeria international has not suited up for the Stamford Bridge
side in an official match since early February after undergoing minor
surgery due to a knee complaint.
After observing Mikel in training, manager Jose Mourinho has suggested
that the central midfielder is not yet in tip-top condition for
tomorrow's game against The Potters.
''Mikel is fine and working all week with the group but he is very
tired so he is not selected, but he is not injured,'' Mourinho said at
Friday's press conference.
''He is tired because he was injured for a month, he had surgery and he
was not working with the group, so after four sessions with the group
he needs time to adapt and needs time to be in condition.''
If we include his appearances in the Champions League and Cup
competitions, John Obi Mikel has featured 21 times for Chelsea this
season.
