Former Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has reportedly met with
Cristiano Ronaldo in an attempt to lure him back to Old Trafford.
The legendary Scot was spotted at the Santiago Bernabéu last week
Tuesday during Real Madrid’s 4-3 loss to Schalke, in a VIP box where he
was sat next to the 30-year-old forward’s agent, Jorge Mendes.
After the embarrassing defeat to the German side, sources from
Manchester reported that Sir Alex Ferguson met with Ronaldo for dinner,
over discussions of a possibile return to the Red Devils at the end of
the season.
Sir Alex and Ronaldo have always had a close relationship, as the
Scotsman was a key figure in showcasing the star to Europe’s biggest
stages.
AS reported that Ronaldo was a hot target for United last
season, but the number seven extended his contract at Los Blancos.
However, the Spanish giants may be keen to cash in on their top
goal-scorer while they still can.
Red Devil's fans would undoubtely welcome back their former star
player, who in his time at Old Trafford, scored 118 goals in 291
appearances, assisting 65 time for his teammates.
This season, Ronaldo has scored 41 goals in 38 games, but has been seen
huffing and puffing with frustration in recent weeks, and the
possibility of an exit from Real Madrid looks possible.
