Real Madrid will be happy to welcome back one of their most promising
young players on 30 June, as their shining Brazilian midfielder returns
from FC Porto.
Casemiro has had a spectacular season with FC Porto after joining the
Portuguese club in last summer on a season-long loan deal.
The club allowed the move in order to give him experience at first team level with a top European club.
The 23-year-old has made 30 appearances for Porto, so far, this season
and has scored 4 goals, making 3 assists. However, his defensive
abilities mark him as the ideal replacement for the outgoing Sami
Khedira.
In this season’s Champions League, he averages 5.8 tackles and 3.5
interceptions per game. His form has put him at the front of the club’s
decision-makers’ minds, according to Marca, and it is believed that he can challenge Luka Modric and Toni Kroos for a starting position in the near future.
The club’s agreement with Porto included an option to buy him, but the
club has the final say on the matter, and because it is believed that he
is one of the future stars of the club, all signs say that he will be
on his way back to the Bernabeau this summer.
