Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has mocked Arsenal’s title credentials, as he believes that they are not consistent enough.
Arsenal currently find themselves seven points behind league leaders
Chelsea, but are now only one point behind second-placeed Manchester
City.
When Mourinho was asked whether Arsenal have found some momentum late
into the season, he sarcastically answered with the following.
"What momentum? 3-1 against Monaco? Or 3-0 against West Ham? Depends on the momentum," he said, as quoted by the Mirror.
The Portuguese touched on the second half of his side’s performance
against Southampton on Sunday and revealed he is happy with the current
six point lead at the top of the table.
"We started well but the penalty changed the rest of the first half. We stopped playing and made some mistakes," he added.
"When Ramires came on we killed their counter attack and had complete control of the game.
"We had a lead of five points and now we have a lead of six points with
one less game to play. I'm not happy with the result but I'm happy with
the situation, the six-point lead."
Chelsea could build on their lead in the next three weeks as they face Hull City, Stoke City and Queens Park Rangers.
